WALLS
From hidden walls that suck the sun
To ancient hums reborn on my tongue.
Your arguments just slip along.
I know slipping can be play.
I wonder what you could love now;
The moral fool will take a bow,
The curtsy mixed with serpent sounds.
You'll love what all you say.
Here in the peace of silent leaves
I scribe my voice that calls to me,
Because in distances I breathe,
In building blocks believe.
I search in here for what I know:
I will become again my own,
I have confused what's loved in stone,
Flowers do not free.
I know I do not apologize,
Like leaves instead I Fall-bye,
And I choose this salty ally
That washes over me.
This poem will not turn away
To fairytales, conjoined free-ways,
Though gut pulls pangs to your bouquet,
I will not turn from here.
If you budge from tunnel visions,
From pineapple palaces, daydream horizons,
Or purple neck wings marking demons,
You die another way.
In this sand I sunken stay
To build what lasts another day
And rise therefore constructed ways:
The variance of grays.
One more block to seal the hole
Though gaping goal will end untold
But all must fit inside these walls
Just one more block, I'll be…
